I flat out dig playing with John! Be it an acoustic jazz/swing setting where he can shine on his collection of brushes and be the standard for others to see and hear what tone, and dynamics are all about, or swinging it in jazz trio and combo settings, or holding together a big band.
Working improv or playing the ink matters not! He's always listening and making sure he adds to the setting. Following the Band Leader, or left to his own interpretation of his part, he is always spot on!
Truly tasty, dynamic, solid, and chops galore!! With an unequaled passion for making music. I can only describe playing with John as "Happening." The cat is an "A" player!
